WINDMÖLLER & HÖLSCHER

MORE THAN 130 YEARS OF RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT FOR THE FLEXIBLE PACKAGING INDUSTRY
W&H was founded in 1869 by Gottfried Windmöller and Hermann Hölscher, initially to manufacture paper bags, but has now grown to become the leading supplier to the flexible packaging industry.  The transformation from converter to machine manufacturer was completed in 1913, when the decision was taken to cease production of cone shaped paper bags.  The machine programme today includes flexo and gravure printing presses, blown film and cast film extrusion systems and machines for the conversion of paper and plastic bags, carrier bags and sacks.

THE SINGLE SOURCE SUPPLIER
W&H sees its role in the industry as that of a system provider.  True to that claim to offer everything from a single source, W&H combine consultation and engineering resources for the planning and delivery of complete production lines, including the appropriate automatic process control and machine management systems.  They can also undertake the engineering and delivery of complete turnkey factories, and are the only company worldwide to offer such a comprehensive range of equipment for the flexible packaging industry.

COMPETENCE WORLD-WIDE
In the town of Lengerich, north of Münster, more than 2000 staff are employed at the group's headquarters.  A second service hub has been developed at W&H Corporation in Rhode Island for North America, and a subsidiary operates in Brazil to serve local markets.  W&H sales offices and agencies are established throughout Europe, South America, Asia and Australasia, so that customers from any part of the world have access to competent and reliable advice.

MACHINE CONCEPTS FOR FLEXIBLE PACKAGING
W&H are working relentlessly on new developments and the improvement of existing machines in order to offer optimum profitability for the intended application.  A vast number of patents hint at the ingenuity of their engineers, whose prime target is to use their experience, quality, dedication and reliability for their customers' benefit.
