WANTZEN
WELCOME TO THE WANTZEN HOME PAGE
We hope you find something of interest here. The history of the
Wantzen business began in 1888 with the founding of the original company
by Anton Wantzen, the son of a brewer from Eschweiler near Aachen. With
works in Cheapside, London EC, the company was originally employed in the
manufacture of envelope, paper bag and box making machinery, and enjoyed
considerable sales success at a time when much paper conversion was still
completed by hand. Early in the 20th century Wantzen began its
relationship with the German machinery manufacturer Windmöller & Hölscher,
when it was appointed as agent for the United Kingdom & Ireland in 1904.
The extensive and sophisticated machinery programme of W&H quickly
replaced the Wantzen machines, and the company's fortunes have been
closely linked ever since.
WANTZEN TODAY &
TOMORROW
Wantzen has always sought to achieve success by combining
traditional virtues such as diligent service and integrity with all of the
benefits of modern advances in technology, whether this be the
introduction of electric motor drives for machines, the arrival of the
telex, or the internet today. All of us at Wantzen are committed to
providing professional, prompt and competent advice and service to our
Customers in the flexible packaging industry. Our goal is to be a
thoroughly modern business, that is fully aware and proud of its
traditions. Wantzen is privately owned by directors actively involved in
the business. We are a small company but growth for its own sake is not
our objective. Our future is dependant on the quality of our work, and
this will remain our main priority.
